MEET OUR FABULOUS TEAM

Deborah Mahar

I have worked for 15 years in Carebear world. I previously worked in Childcare in the Local Community on a CE Scheme. I am a qualified level 5/6 Childcare Assistant, first Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Officer and HACCP Trained. I am presently in college upskilling, hoping to specialise in special needs. I am a group leader of our After-School Club. A lot of the children I have known from young babies and we are one big bear family. I enjoy doing a lot of activities especial arts and crafts.

Marie Kennedy

I have worked at Carebear World 7 years. I previously worked in Childcare in the local community. I am a qualified level 6 Childcare Assistant, First Aid, Manual Handling, and Siolta Trained. I enjoy socialising with all the children enjoying working with the Preschool group. I am a team leader in the preschool. I am presently upskilling to Level 7 childcare.

Sowmiya Aravind

Hello, my name is Sowmiya, and here everyone calls me “Sam”. I am from India and I moved to Dublin 3 years ago. I hold a postgraduate diploma in Management Studies from Symbiosis College, India. I discovered my interest and love to work with kids while I was doing a volunteering teaching in my son’s school and I decided to study and pursue my career in Childcare. I have a QQI Level 6 Major in Early Childhood Care and Education. I am certified in First Aid and Manual Handling for toddlers. I enjoy working with all ages and my favourite activity is engaging the children in painting and creative art as it gives an opportunity for the children to make creative choices and offer opportunities for imaginative exploration.

 

Michelle Chandler

I have work at Carebear World for 2.5 years. I previously worked in Childcare for 15 years. I am a qualified level 6 Childcare Assistant, First aid, Manual handling, HACCP, and I am presently studying for
my level 7. I am a team leader in preschool and supervises all new trainees. I lead the curriculum program for all the preschool with each room leader. I enjoy working with all ages and my favourite
activity is when we do activity plays and show and tell days.

Claudia Mayorga

My name is Claudia, I am from Mexico, I have been living here 4 and a half years, I got a degree of bachelor’s in education back home in 2014. since I was 12 years old, I found the fun of taking care of babies and kids, I come from a big family so making crafts and drawings with different materials is something that characterizes me. I am certified in Manual Handling and HACCP. I started working in Precious Children in this year and I love it. I enjoy working with the preschool groups. Developing kid’s skills and abilities through play is my main goal daily.

Oksana Ploshko

Oksana has first aid, manual handling and fire safety certificates. She also took part in a curriculum training course. Oksanas role includes working alongside Caroline in assisting within the day to day running of the administration and records of both Precious Children Daycare Creches. Oksana ensures that all government schemes are up to date. Oksana also drives children to and from school. She has a full clear driver’s license and is Garda Vetted. Oksana communicates with staff members to ensure effective communication between the children’s school and our afterschool service. This link between school, our service and home is an important part of ensuring the overall well-being of the children within our care. Oksana ensures that her car is cleaned and in line with covid regulations before, in between, and after each school pick up. Oksana works well as part of our childcare team and within our monthly staff meetings.  

Christina McGuiness

Hi, my name is Christina. I am working in childcare for a total of 12 years, 9 which have been in Precious Children.  I have my level 5 in Childcare and I am currently studying to receive my Level 6. I am certified in manual handling, first aid and first response training. I work with the afterschool children and I enjoy doing arts and crafts, booking and messy play with the children.

Roisin Hamm

Hi, my name is Roisin and I started working in Precious Children in March. I have a QQI Level 7 in Early Childhood Education and I am currently waiting to receive my Level 8 degree. In my third year of studying, I done an Erasmus in Denmark to develop my holistic practice. I am also certified in First Aid, First Response and Manual Handling training. I work in the Toddler Room and love doing arts and crafts, cooking, sensory play and music activities. Outside of Precious Children I teach traditional Irish music to young children three times per week.

Sabrina Chandler

Hi, my name is Sabrina and I have my level 6 and hope to continue my studies in the future. I am also trained in manual handling and first aid training. My job includes working in the classroom and assisting school pickups. I communicate with parents on how the children are doing and pass this information onto the schools. To keep the service running smoothly I ensure all equipment is in good condition and stock forms are updated when necessary.

Ciara Lawlor

I have work at Carebear World for 10 years. I am a qualified level 6 Childcare Assistant, First aid, Manual handling, HACCP, and I am presently studying for my level 7. I am a team leader in preschool and supervises all pick up care. I lead the curriculum program for all the preschool with each room leader. I enjoy working with all ages and my favourite activity is when we do activity cooking as the
children get real into it.

Shauna Coffey

Shauna Coffey is originally from Athlone and started dancing at the very young age of 5 years old. Shauna is a qualified teacher in Classical Ballet and Modern Theatre Dance under the ISTD and has taken Vocational standard examinations with both the ISTD and the RAD.She is also qualified Acro teacher with the Acrobatic arts. Her full-time training commenced with her acceptance into The Royal Academy of Dance, London as well as the Inchicore full-time professional dance teachers’ course in Dublin, where she trained for 3 years.

Shauna continues her training and further developing her skills and qualifications alongside our other wonderful teachers by attending courses both at home and in England.

Shauna has an abundance of performance experience stretching back to performances with the ‘Youth Ballet West‘ when she was merely 16 years old to performances in Belfast, The Aviva Stadium, St Patrick’s Day Parade, in Dublin, various music videos and in Granoble, France. Shauna has taught and continues to teach for various schools in Ireland
